VCF FAQ

1.3 Are there any circumstances under which the review of my claim can be accelerated?

August 17, 2026

Yes. The VCF recognizes that some claimants face significant challenges that make it difficult to wait for their claim to be processed in the normal timeframe.  The VCF may expedite the processing of your claim or amendment if you are terminally ill or facing imminent financial hardship.  For purposes of expediting a claim, the VCF defines imminent financial hardship as active foreclosure or eviction proceedings, or homelessness.

VCF FAQ

1.1 I filed my claim. What happens next?

August 17, 2026

Once you file your claim, the first step the VCF takes is to do a preliminary review to confirm that all of the “minimally required” documents have been submitted. In addition to a complete Claim Form, we require the following documents before your claim can move forward for a more substantive review:

VCF FAQ

VCF FAQ

August 6, 2026

Syndyk dokonuje przeglądu i roztrzyga wszystkie rozprawy dotyczące odwołań.

VCF FAQ

4.4 I appealed the decision on my claim and my hearing was held. When will a decision be made on my appeal?

August 6, 2026

The Special Master reviews and decides all appeal hearings.  As a general rule, hearing decisions are rendered in “first in, first out” order based on the date the hearing was held.  The Special Master is currently rendering decisions for hearings held in June 2026.
