With VCF input the Social Security Administration (SSA) identified the problem that caused the delay and has since implemented a solution to provide all prior requested information to the VCF. The SSA has committed to sending all requested information to the VCF in a timely fashion going forward. The VCF is reviewing the SSA information for completion, and will be working on review of impacted claims, starting with the ones that have been waiting the longest. We appreciate claimants' patience as we work through the large number of documents recently received from SSA and will contact claimants if we need additional information from them as we review their claim. For information on why the VCF requests information from SSA and how it is used when calculating awards, see Section 2.2 of the VCF Policies and Procedures regarding calculation of lost earnings and benefits.
