2025 marked the completion of the VCF’s 14th year of operations. We continue to serve the 9/11 community with a laser focus on remaining faithful to our statute, fair to our claimants, and defensible to the taxpayers. More than two decades later, the VCF has served tens of thousands of victims and their families, and we continue to receive around 900 new claims each month – a clear indication of the ongoing importance of our mission. The number of people who have died of 9/11-related health conditions has far surpassed the number of people who died on the day of the attacks.

This 2025 Annual Report summarizes the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund’s (VCF or Fund) activities and accomplishments throughout its 14th year. This report details the Fund’s ongoing commitments to reaching all those who may be eligible for compensation, to improving the claimant experience, and to maintaining a focus on being trauma-informed.

La Magistrada Especial  repasa y decide todos las vistas apelativas. Como regla general, las decisiones de las vistas se revisan en orden de llegada, primera vista que se ve, primera que se decide,  esto se basa en la fecha en que la vista se vio. La Magistrada Especial está actualmente rindiendo decisiones de las vistas que se dieron el pasado diciembre del 2025.

The Special Master reviews and decides all appeal hearings.  As a general rule, hearing decisions are rendered in “first in, first out” order based on the date the hearing was held.  The Special Master is currently rendering decisions for hearings held in December 2025.

Na ogół wnioski są rozpatrywane w kolejności napływania – na podstawie daty złożenia kompletnego formularza wniosku wraz ze wszystkimi wymaganymi informacjami. Oznacza to, że wnioski oczekujące na rozpatrzenie dłużej mają pierwszeństwo przed wnioskami nowymi. Wnioski zostają przedłożone do rozpatrzenia w pierwszej kolejności tylko wtedy, kiedy załączono do nich wszystkie wymagane informacje.

As a general rule, claims are reviewed in “first in, first out” order based on the date the complete Claim Form was submitted with all required information. This means the VCF prioritizes claims that have been waiting longer before beginning review of newer submissions. Claims are prioritized for review only after all required information has been submitted.

Como regla general, los reclamos se revisan por orden de llegada, siguiendo el orden de la fecha en que el formulario de reclamo completado fue presentado con toda la información requerida. Yes, if the payments are related at least in part to your disability from an eligible 9/11-related condition and you are seeking VCF compensation for lost earnings (also referred to as “economic loss”). The statute requires that the VCF offset from your economic loss award any disability benefits you are receiving, or entitled to receive, related to your eligible physical health conditions. If you receive WTC-BP disability payments for conditions that are not eligible under the VCF, those amounts will not be deducted from your award.
