May 30th Memorial Glade Commemoration
On May 30th we commemorate the anniversary of the official end of rescue, recovery and relief efforts at Ground Zero. I want to acknowledge the heroic and extraordinary acts of service performed by the community of responders in the aftermath of the attacks. The monumental efforts from first responders, recovery workers, volunteers, and countless others served as a foundation to rebuild, heal, and honor the memory of those we lost. More than two decades later, the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund has served tens of thousands of 9/11 victims and their families, and we continue to receive over 800 new claims each month – a clear indication of the ongoing importance of our mission. It is truly a privilege to do this work and to support the 9/11 community for decades to come.
